Speaker Test
Send a short pulsing tone to one side at a time. If the sound comes from the wrong side, or one side is silent, you know where to look.
Lower your volume before starting, especially with headphones. Nothing plays until you press a button.

How to use
- Turn your volume down to a comfortable level before you start.
- Press Left. The tone should come only from the left speaker or earpiece.
- Press Right and check the other side. Then press Both.
- Use Auto to cycle through all three while you listen.
What this test can detect
- A speaker or earpiece that is silent.
- Channels that are swapped, for example when a cable or setting is reversed.
- A tone that sounds distorted or crackly on one side.
- Balance settings that make one side much quieter.
Important
- Some laptops and phones have a single speaker or mix both channels together. In that case Left and Right will sound the same.
- Bluetooth devices sometimes add a short delay before the sound starts.
- This test uses a synthesized tone. It does not check the full frequency response of the speaker.
